British singer and songwriter Ed Sheeran dropped on Friday his eighth studio album "Play".
The record gathers the previously released singles “Camera”, “A Little More”, “Azizam”, “Sapphire,” “Old Phone,” and more.
Inspired, in part, by the superstar exposure to Indian and Persian musical cultures, "Play" sees Sheeran enter a brand new era, after closing the chapter on his hugely successful Mathematics series.
“Play is the album that’s made me fall in love with fun again. Writing and recording Subtract was so cathartic but also so heavy. Going into Stereo after Mathematics ended I wanted to start with the polar opposite. Play celebrates love, life, culture, exploring, creativity and technicolour,” he wrote in an Instagram post on Friday. “ I’ve loved making this record and the last 6 months have been just what I needed to get back into the swing of things - to reheat my love for pop, and popping up. It’s an album I’m immensely proud of, and just makes me feel good. I hope it does the same for you. Thank you to all my insanely talented collaborators, and all the fans along the journey who have been at all our pop ups. More to come."

To celebrate the new release, Sheeran shares the official video for “Camera”, starring Phoebe Dynevor.
The four-time Grammy Award winner closed the book on Mathematics last Sunday, September 7 in Düsseldorf, Germany, with the final show on his +−=÷× Tour (Mathematics Tour), a global juggernaut that began in April 2022 and featured more than 160 shows.
He is also booked to play at iHeartMusicFestival in Las Vegas next Saturday, September 20, then embarks on The Loop Tour this December for shows across Continental Europe and the U.K., followed by a run of stadium shows across Australia and New Zealand in the first quarter of 2026.
