Paramount Pictures has pushed back the release date for "Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves" by four weeks, from March 3 to March 31, 2023.
The movie will contend on its new opening day with Variance Films’ musical drama "Spinning Gold" with Michelle Monaghan and Jason Isaacs; Sony’s boxing movie "Heart of a Lion" with Forest Whitaker; Zach Braff’s drama "A Good Person, starring Florence Pugh and Morgan Freeman; and A.V. Rockwell’s crime movie "A Thousand and One for Focus".
It is based on the fantasy tabletop role-playing game "Dungeons & Dragons from Hasbro’s Wizards of the Coast".
The movie will follow a charming thief and a band of unlikely adventurers as they embark on an epic quest to retrieve a lost relic. Things go dangerously awry when they run afoul of the wrong people.
It stars Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Regé-Jean Page, Justice Smith, Sophia Lillis, Chloe Coleman, Daisy Head, Hugh Grant, and Jason Wong.
Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley are directing for Paramount and eOne, having adapted the screenplay with Michael Michael Gilio. The script is based on a story by Chris McKay and Gilio, which was itself based on Hasbro’s game.
Jeremy Latcham, Brian Goldner, and Nick Meyer are producing, with Denis L. Stewart, Goldstein, Daley, Pine, Zev Foreman, and Greg Mooradian serving as executive producers.
