Egypt’s Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli issued a decree, to appoint Professor Ahmed M. El-Sherbeni as a general supervisor of the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC), located in Fustat. The museum is one of the state’s major national projects.
The Ministry of Antiquities is determined to finish all the necessary preparations ahead of receiving the royal mummies from the Egyptian Museum in Al-Tahrir.
Dr. El Sherbini was received in NMEC by secretary general of the supreme council of Antiquities Dr Moustafa Waziry, and general manager of Nubia fund Mahrous Saeed.
Noteworthy, El-Sherbeni got a Ph.D degree in electricity and communications engineering from Case Western Reserve University, USA.
He has taken over many local and international positions, including: Assistant Minister of Communications and Information Technology for international cooperation affairs, director of the national telecommunications institute, and Egyptian cultural advisor in Canada.
In addition, he is a full-time professor at the department of electronics and electrical communications, faculty of engineering, Cairo University.
He also received many awards, patents and certificates of appreciation, foremost of which; first class order of excellence, the state incentive award in engineering sciences, and a patent from the USA. El-Sherbeni was also included in Egypt’s encyclopedia of eminent personalities in 1992.
