On Tuesday, Democratic Republic of the Congo's (DR Congo) Prime Minister Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde visited the Pyramids with his delegation as part of his visit to Egypt.
Dr. Ashraf Mohie El-Din, the director of Pyramids Antiquities, received the prime minister and his delegation before accompanying them in a tour inside the Great Pyramid’s first passage, Sphinx, and Pyramids’ Panorama site.
Mohie El-Din revealed that Lukonde was impressed by the way of establishing the Great Pyramid and whether archaeologists found Khufu’s body or not.
On his side, the Prime Minister was amazed by Sphinx and its hugeness.
The Egyptian official overviewed Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities efforts in restoring and preserving the giant statue.
During touring the Pyramids Panorama site, the Congolese delegation took various photos; the Congolese Prime Minister expressed his sincere pleasure for visiting the Pyramids, describing it as one of the most significant sites in the world.
