Dr. Tajuddin

Dr. Tajuddin was also honored; he described the Egyptian performance in the Corona crisis as an outstanding performance similar to the researcher in October War 1973.

He continued, "there was a great nationalist stand by the state, the President of the Republic, universities and doctors everywhere to confront Corona, which we still suffer from and its negative repercussions, psychologically, healthily, economically and socially, and yet we are better than others."

He went on to say that doctors played a vital role that saved the country in that dangerous phase, despite the number of medical team injuries or the death of some of them.

Dr. Tajuddin added that he is proud of all doctors in general and chest doctors in particular, and he always tells them that they are brave, heroes and competent. It is true that there was a severe shortage of doctors in some hospitals and capabilities, but when the state and the medical sector were mobilized strongly, we overcame the crisis successfully.

Dr. Tajuddin revealed that in the beginning, there were only isolation hospitals, but 77 chest and fever hospitals were added later to them. Currently, most hospitals have intensive care units, and most of them take care of patients with respiratory system.  Also, Egyptian doctors have been able to develop ideal protocols for treating patients.

Dr. Mahmoud El-Matiny, President of Ain Shams University said: "A well-deserved tribute to all Egyptian doctors for all that they have provided and continue to provide at all levels, from young doctors to professors, specialists and consultants, and from university hospitals to the Ministry of Health."

"We will not forget the martyrs of the profession and the injured, and we thank them for their sacrifices", he said.

Mahmoud Metiny

He added that Ain Shams University has played its role in facing this pandemic that attacked the whole world with ups and downs, but the university has not been late and has the lead in establishing Al-Obour Hospital as an isolation hospital in Cairo on March 1, 2020.

"Whereas the first case of Corona was detected in February, i.e. 15 days later, we had a university hospital for isolation. In addition to Al-Najila Hospital affiliated to the Ministry of Health."

Ain Shams first:

He said the confrontation in Ain Shams was not only in hospital, but on other axes

including awareness campaigns for 250,000 students of the university and its surroundings, all in East Cairo.

The awareness campaigns shed light on seriousness of the virus and how to prevent and treat it.

Ain Shams University has allocated a number of laboratories for diagnosis and swabs for all citizens and activated the remote therapy system.
