Renowned Egypt's composer Omar Khairat will perform a ove concert at Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) on May 7 - with tickets sold out weeks in advance.
The musician will play a number of his notable pieces such as “Al Bakhil Wi Ana,” “Qadeyet Aam Ahmed,” “Feha Haga Helwa,” “Masaalet Mabdaa,” and “Aarfa.”
Born in Cairo, Khairat joined the Cairo Conservatoire in 1959, studied piano with Italian Maestro Vincenzo Carro and followed correspondence courses in music theory and composition with the Trinity College in England.
Throughout his outstanding career, he has composed musical scores for numerous films and television series, including The Sixth Day (1984), The Terrorist (1993), Mafia (2002), Girl’s Love (2003), The Embassy is in the Building (2005), and ‘Deer’s Blood’ (2006).
He also rearranged some works of the great composer Mohamed Abdel Wahab like Wahabiat 1 and 2 in addition to songs of Um Kulthoum which achieved great success due to his achievement of developing his own signature style of composing.
