Egyptian singer-actress Donia Samir Ghanem has signed on to star in the play "Mekssara Aldonya".
The cast also stars Samy Maghawry, Mohamed Tharwat, Mariam El Gendy, and more.
"Mekssara Aldonya" is set to debut within the activities of the 5th edition of the Riyadh Season in Saudi Arabia.
The play's official synopsis reads: "Halawayat, the leader of the old circus teem in the simple city, faces the challenge of her life: either achieve unprecedented success in her istest show or the owner of the airous land will demolish it to build a commercial buliding on the circus land."
In January 2024, Ghanem made her last theatrical appearance in the play "Anistona", staged at the Riyadh season, in Saudi Arabia.
The play was first staged back in September 2022 in Egypt to great success and witnessed Ghanem's theatrical debut.
The actress was born on January 1, 1985, to an artistic family; she is the daughter of renowned actor Samir Ghanem and actress Dalal Abdulaziz; her sister, Amal— known as Amy— is also an actress.
Ghanem’s talents appeared when she was a child, participating in school plays and shows.
The actress made her acting debut in 2001’s TV series “Leladala Wogouh Katheera” (Justice has many faces). In 2005, Ghanem made her first film appearance in renowned comedy actor Mohamed Henedi’s film “Ya Ana Ya Khalty”. She released her first song “Farh el Sen” in 2010.
In 2015, she was a judge on season 4 of “The X Factor” Arabia version along with Lebanese singers Elissa and Ragheb Alama.
Ghanem is best known for her work on the television shows “Leladala Wogouh Katheera”, “El Kabeer Awy”, “Lahfa”, “Nelly and Sherihan”, “In Lala Land”, and “badal el hadouta 3”.
She is also known for her roles in films “El-Farah”, “You Fly”, “Ezbet Adam”, “La Taragoa Wala Esteslam”, “X-Large”, and “365 Days of Happiness”.
