Egyptian singer-actress Donia Samir Ghanem starred alongside her daughter Kayla, who she shares with prominent TV presenter Ramy Radwan, in the TV series "Gat Salema".
The series is currently screening during the holy month of Ramadan.
The 15-episode series is scripted by Karim Youssef and Sameh Gamal, directed by Islam Khairy, and produced by Ahmed El Sobky.
The cast also stars Khaled El Sawy, Bayoumi Fouad, Sayed Ragab, Mohamed Salam, Salwa Khattab, Mayan El Sayed, and others.
The plot follows Salema a kind bibliophile who lives with her brother and cold-hearted stepmother and her stepsisters. When she is forced to empty and sell her late father’s library, Salema finds a mysterious old book that transports her and her little brother into another world.
Kayla appeared in the 12th episode of the series, which saw Saleema's mission to collect chapters of the book led her to a new place where she meets Kayla.
The youngster expressed her love for drawing and disclosed that she cannot draw or read because the king forbade it, nonetheless, Saleema helped her and gave her colors to use.
Kayla has managed to draw attention despite it being her first time acting. Her appearance also marks the mother-daughter duo's first time to share screen time.
Throughout the past years, Ghanem kept her daughter away from the spotlight, but recently Kayla began to be spotted more alongside her mother.
She appeared with the singer-actress in videos from behind the scenes of the play "Anistoona" and at a wedding.
