Donia Samir Ghanem-Led Play "Anistona" to Be Staged in KSA on January 30

Egyptian singer-actress Donia Samir Ghanem's play "Anistona" is set to be staged from January 30 to February 5, within the activities of the 4th edition of the Riyadh Season in Saudi Arabia.

The cast also stars Bayoumi Fouad, Sami Maghawry, Karim Afifi, and more. It hails from director Khaled Galal and scriptwriters Ahmed Abdel-Wahab and Karim Sami.

The play's official synopsis reads: "Sherif rents a theater to hold a concert, but he discovers that the theater is haunted by the spirit of Camellia, who owned the theater in the 1930s and prevents anyone from entering or singing on the stage, but she makes an agreement with Sherif to present her last granddaughter through a big concert for her on the same stage with the same name. .. Will Sherif succeed in reaching her granddaughter and presenting her on stage as a professional singer?".

"Anistona" was first staged back in September 2022 in Egypt to great success and witnessed Ghanem's theatrical debut. 

Donia Samir GhanemOn the other hand, Ghanem has recently signed on to star in the film "Doody Gard".

Principal photography is scheduled to begin in the coming days, preventing her from participating in the Ramadan 2024 drama marathon.

The untitled project is set to premiere during the Eid al-Fitr movie marathon.

Ghanem made her most recent on-screen appearance in the film “Taslim Ahali”.

The film also starred the actress’ late mother Dalal Abdel Aziz as well as Hesham Maged, Bayoumi Fouad, Ahmed Fathy, Amr Wahba, and others.

It is scripted by Sherif Nagib and directed by Khaled El-Halfawy.

The film marks Ghanem’s comeback to the big screen after six years of absence. The actress made her last cinematic appearance in the 2019 film, “Laf W Dawaran”.

The actress was born on January 1, 1985, to an artistic family; she is the daughter of renowned actor Samir Ghanem and actress Dalal Abdulaziz; her sister, Amal— known as Amy— is also an actress.

Ghanem’s talents appeared when she was a child, participating in school plays and shows.

The actress made her acting debut in 2001’s TV series “Leladala Wogouh Katheera” (Justice has many faces). In 2005, Ghanem made her first film appearance in renowned comedy actor Mohamed Henedi’s film “Ya Ana Ya Khalty”. She released her first song “Farh el Sen” in 2010.

In 2015, she was a judge on season 4 of “The X Factor” Arabia version along with Lebanese singers Elissa and Ragheb Alama.

Ghanem is best known for her work on the television shows “Leladala Wogouh Katheera”, “El Kabeer Awy”, “Lahfa”, “Nelly and Sherihan”, “In Lala Land”, and “badal el hadouta 3”.

She is also known for her roles in films “El-Farah”, “You Fly”, “Ezbet Adam”, “La Taragoa Wala Esteslam”, “X-Large”, and “365 Days of Happiness”.
