Donia Samir Ghanem Addresses "Al-Kabir Awy" S7 Casting Rumors

Fans hoping to see Donia Samir Ghanem make an appearance in season 7 of Egyptian actor Ahmed Mekky's comedy hit TV series “Al-Kabir Awy” might not want to hold their breath.

The singer-actress, who played Hadeya in the show, has finally spoken out about rumors that she will join Mekky in the highly anticipated series.

Ghanem shared Monday on Instagram stories that she will only be participating in Ramadan 2023 with the TV series "Gat Salema".

It is scripted by Karim Youssef and Sameh Gamal, directed by Islam Khairy, and produced by Ahmed El Sobky.

The 15-episode series dive into 3 different periods of time.

The cast also stars Khaled El Sawy, Bayoumi Fouad, Sayed Ragab, Mohamed Salam, Salwa Khattab, Mayan El Sayed, and others.

“Gat Salema” marks Ghanem’s comeback to the drama marathon after four years of absence.

The actress last participated in the marathon with the 2019 TV series “Badal Al Hadoota 3”.

The plot revolves around three different stories each about a girl living in different circumstances and seeking a different goal, each has a social subject shown in a fun way.

Ghanem was born on January 1, 1985, to an artistic family; she is the daughter of renowned actor Samir Ghanem and actress Dalal Abdulaziz; her sister, Amal— known as Emy— is also an actress.

The actress made her acting debut in 2001’s TV series “Leladala Wogouh Katheera” (Justice has many faces) and landed her first film role in 2005's “Ya Ana Ya Khalty”.

In 2010, Ghanem made her singing debut with the song “Farh el Sen”.

Other notable TV credits include “Leladala Wogouh Katheera” (2001), “El Kabeer Awy” (2010), “Lahfa”(2015), “Nelly and Sherihan” (2016), “In Lala Land” (2017), and “Badal El Hadouta 3” (2019).
