The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development signed a cooperation protocol with the Decent Life Foundation on Sunday regarding the integration of efforts made for the presidential initiative and the national project "A Decent Life” (Hayat Karima).
The protocol was signed by Gamil Helmy, Assistant Minister of Planning and Economic Development and General Supervisor of the Initiative at the Ministry, and Aya Omar, Chairwoman of the Board of Trustees of the Decent Life Foundation.
Other figures attended the signing such as Ohoud Wafi, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation, and Omar Bahnasi, Treasurer of the Foundation.
On her part, Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala Al-Saeed stressed that the protocol comes within the framework of implementing the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi regarding strengthening social protection measures, through the implementation of the presidential initiative "A Decent Life" with the aim of supporting the neediest and most vulnerable groups.
She, also, pointed out to the agreement of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development and the Decent Life Foundation on making joint efforts to contribute to achieving the initiative's goal of upgrading the economic, social and environmental level of families in the neediest villages nationwide according to the poverty map issued by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics.
“Thus, families will obtain all essential services and their capabilities will be maximized in productive work that contributes to achieving a "decent life" for their families and peoples,” Al-Saaed said.
The Planning minister added that according to the protocol, cooperation will take place on the integration and coordination of efforts made in implementing the presidential initiative "A Decent Life" launched by Sisi, with the aim of uniting the state's efforts in the file of poverty, to relieve the burdens of citizens, especially the neediest families in rural communities.
For his part, Helmy said that the Planning Ministry and the Decent Life Foundation are working to support the implementation of the Initiative to improve the quality of the citizen's life and reduce the negative effects of the novel coronavirus on the living conditions of the neediest families.
He added that the Initiative, also, supports the state's efforts to achieve and localize the goals of sustainable development, stressing his belief in the importance of cooperation and coordination with partners, especially ministries, agencies, agencies and institutions related to the success of the initiative.
Omar, the Foundation’s chairwoman of the Board of Trustees said: “We are honored to sign the protocol today with the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, and it is considered a link in the chain of cooperation between state institutions from the government and civil society, with the aim of integrating efforts to achieve the desired goals of the presidential initiative and the national project“ A Decent Life.”
It is worth noting that “A Decent Life” is a presidential initiative that aims to reduce the burden on citizens in the neediest rural communities, through the implementation of a set of developmental programs.
The Decent Life Foundation is an Egyptian charitable developmental institution that aims to effectively intervene to support the Egyptian citizen and work to preserve his dignity and right to live a decent life.
The Foundation believes that the development of society and the improvement of the inpidual's livelihood is a shared responsibility between the various bodies and institutions.
