A few hours ago, the first edition of WWE’s NXT Deadline took place in a heavy night of pro wrestling as the event was organized an hour after Ring of Honor’s Final Battle. The event witnessed two title matches, and a single match, alongside the first edition of Iron Survivor matches.

The event attracted pro wrestling fans as they were thrilled to introduce the Iron Survivor matches. The rules are: two wrestlers start the match and every five minutes another wrestler enters until all five participants are present. After the last wrestler enters, there is a predetermined time limit.

Each time a wrestler scores a pinfall, submission, or being the victim of a disqualification, they gain a point.

Deadline started with the Iron Survivor match for women. The lineup of the match contained Zoey Stark, Cora Jade, Roxanne Perez, Kiana James, and Indi Hartwell.

The match was not the best women’s presentation for the brand, and the performers didn’t introduce their best performance of them, in addition, the storytelling of the match was poor.

Naming Roxanne Perez as a winner of the match was also a strange choice as Perez had a push, early this year by winning the first Breakout tournament to earn a title shot against Mandy Rose.

Next, the match between Alba Fyre, and Isla Dawn took place. The match was fine, and both stars did a nice sequence of moves inside the ring.

The final part of the match was strange as the referee seemed to have an injury or was being impacted by the black mist of Dawn’s. This scene didn’t impact the sequence of moves of the match which seemed odd to the fans.

After that came the first title at the night which was for the NXT Tag Team titles between Pretty Deadly, and The New Day.

It could be one of the best two matches at the event. There was harmony between both teams' members, and they made attractive counters of in-ring moves and joint tag team signatures.

The victory of New Day was highly unexpected which made the audience in great shock as main roaster appearances in NXT were mainly for giving more pushes to the NXT superstars, but after the victory of The New Day, it seemed that the team would have an NXT run.

The New Day managed to reach a new record for being the third team to be triple-crowned after FTR and Street Profits.

The New Day successfully ended the second reign of Pretty Deadly with the titles as they unified the NXT Tag Team and NXT UK Tag Team titles in NXT-NXT UK joint PPV Worlds Collide.

Next came the Men’s Iron Survivor match which was the most stunning scene of the whole night. The lineup of the match was Carmelo Hayes, JD McDonagh, Grayson Waller, Joe Gacy, and Axiom. The five superstars are the best of the brand, especially Hayes who is known with his great run with the NXT North America title.

They succeeded in executing powerful, and stunning in-ring performances, in addition, the representation of each star was very good as each one had strong and the required time and space to show his in-ring talents.

In addition, they made use of each part of the venue, including the box where the pinned star wait for 90 seconds. There was a nice encounter between McDonagh and Axiom inside the cage, in addition, Waller performed a strong and entertaining show.

The sequence of the moves and the interaction between the superstars and the fans were thrilling and introduced a good impression for the first edition of the Men’s Iron Survivor match.

Waller succeeded to score a third point to end the match with his victory.

Finally came the NXT title match between Bron Breakker and Apollo Crews. It was a good match but didn’t introduce anything new or creative for Breakker’s latest matches of the title.

However, Crews succeeded to deliver a nice in-ring performance.

In a nutshell, the event overall was fine, however, the women’s contests were the weaker during the event.

The Iron Survivor match of men deserved to be the main event of the show, instead of the NXT title match.
