Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides and his accompanying delegation visited The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC) on Wednesday.
They were received by Fayrouz Fekry, Deputy Director for Managment and Operation at NMEC, who gave them an overview about the unique location of the museum, its history as well as its cultural and societal role.
The tour included various exhibition halls, the reception building, the area overlooking Lake Ain al-Sira, the open theater, and the unique archaeological dye that was discovered dating back to the Fatimid era.
Moreover, Professor Mohamed Mokhtar Amin gave them a detailed explanation of the museum's history and its unique archaeological holdings that narrate the history of Egyptian civilization throughout the ages.
At the end of the visit, Cypriot President expressed his great admiration for the museum and its distinguished character that sets it apart from the rest of the world's museums, as it achieves an unparalleled integration of antiquity, history and heritage with technological development and modernity in the museum display method.
