Culture Min., Endowment Min. Launch “Vision” Project in Cairo Book Fair

The Ministry of Culture, in cooperation with the Ministry of Awqaf, launched an educational project of books series entitled “Vision”; it aims at promoting religious awareness.

This project was signed in a seminar held within the activities of the 51st edition of Cairo International Book Fair – in Egypt Center for Exhibitions and International Conferences.

Dr. Mukhtar Jumaa, Minister of Awqaf, Dr. Haitham Al-Hajj, head of the Egyptian General Authority for Book, on behalf of Dr. Enas Abdel Dayem, Minister of Culture, attended the ceremony.

Dr. Al-Hajj delivered a speech and thanked the Ministry of Awqaf for the effort exerted to serve the community and the keen interest in dealing with some important issues to support the enlightened religious discourse.

Dr. Al-Hajj noted that this cooperation comes within the framework of the government's directions to activate the integration and interdependence between the various ministries, especially culture and endowments, for raising the public’s awareness.

The vision project reflects great cooperation on the ground and it comes as one of the fruits of an enlightening project that seeks to renew the religious discourse, using rehabilitation mechanisms.

He indicated that the project was held with the concerted efforts of all its parties, noting that celebrating the launch of the project includes crowning all the activities that were already presented within a few months of the start of the project.

He also thanked Dr. Tariq Shawqi, Minister of Education and Technical Education, and Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, for their cooperation in spreading this project in youth centers and in thousands of schools across the country, stressing that “vision” project represents a new valuable knowledge in our society.

On his part, Dr. Jumaa, praised the cooperation with the Ministry of Culture, confirming the success of this joint work to promote the Egyptian state.

Four months ago, 7 books were published, coinciding with the choice of Cairo as the capital of Islamic culture for 2020; it is a celebration of Islamic civilization, confirming the publication of 20 books in the series during the current year and translating at least half of them into other languages.

Dr. Jumaa added the project includes a religious and national dimension to be published in cultural palaces, schools and youth centers in cooperation with the affiliated ministries.

It is worthy of note that the books that were issued in this project are:

1- Cultural Dialogue between East and West

This book emphasizes that dialogue is a necessity to build bridges of understanding and rapprochement between nations and it works to spread and consolidate the culture of tolerance and peaceful coexistence between people; it adopts the language of dialogue as an alternative to the clash and rejects violence, hatred, extremism and terrorism.

2-“Concepts that must be corrected in the jurisprudence of the Biography and Sunnah”.

This book corrects some misconceptions in critical issues.

3- The book, "Protection of Worship Places ".

It seeks to establish the principle of "equal citizenship" and the jurisprudence of peaceful coexistence among all people without distinction based on religion, language, color, gender, or race as it deepens faith in persity and difference; it clarifies the meaning of “God’s universal Sunnah”

4-The book "Jurisprudence of the State and Jurisprudence of the Community" .

It distinguishes between the jurisprudence of the state, which is based on construction and work for the benefit of people, and the jurisprudence of groups based on demolition, corruption.
