The Critics Choice Awards will go forward on January 26.
The rescheduled event will remain at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, and will broadcast live on E! and around the world. It will also be available on Peacock the next day.
“This unfolding tragedy has already had a profound impact on our community. All our thoughts and prayers are with those battling the devastating fires and with all who have been affected,” said CCA CEO Joey Berlin.
The 30th annual ceremony was set to be broadcast on its new partner E! and Peacock for a 7 p.m. ET/PT broadcast. Chelsea Handler was set to return as host for her third consecutive year.
Conclave and Wicked lead this year’s Critics Choice noms with 11 apiece. "Dune: Part Two" and "Emilia Pérez" follow closely behind with 10 nominations each, including Best Picture nominations for both films. Rounding out the Best Picture category is "A Complete Unknown", "Anora", "The Brutalist", "Nickel Boys", "Sing Sing", and "The Substance".
The show is executive produced by Bob Bain Productions and Berlin Entertainment. The Critics Choice Awards are represented by Dan Black at Greenberg Traurig, LLP.
The news follows the cancellation of Saturday’s BAFTA Tea Party, an awards season January tradition.
“In light of the dangerous winds and wildfires in Los Angeles, we are cancelling this weekend’s BAFTA Tea Party. The safety of our colleagues, friends and peers in Los Angeles remains our utmost priority and our thoughts are with everyone impacted,” wrote a BAFTA Tea Party representative.
Some of the recent cancellations include the premiere of Roadside Attractions Gia Coppola feature "Showgirl" and Paramount’s "Better Man".
As of this morning, the toll from the latest wildfires included two people dead, multiple injured, and more than 320,000 people without power. The Palisades Fire has burnt more than 5,000 acres and destroyed some 1,000 structures.
