Health Affairs Presidential Advisor Awad Tag El-Din said on Monday that Egypt starts making COVID-19 shots mandatory for all citizens, noting that the country is dealing with this file in a 'professional and wise' way.
In televised remarks, Tag El-Din added that Egypt managed to provide all types of COVID-19 vaccine, pointing out to citizens' high turnout to receive the jab.
He added that about 500,000 citizens are vaccinated against the virus daily.
It is worth mentioning that, Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, Health Ministry spokesman confirmed on Tuesday that COVID-19 vaccine boosts immunity and reduces the risk of infection.
Abdel Ghaffar added that the vaccine does not prevent coronavirus infection, stressing that people must follow precautionary measures such as wearing facemasks and maintaining social distancing.
Moreover, he also urged citizens to register online in order to be vaccinated against COVID-19 as soon as possible.
