The Nasr City Family Court ordered Tuesday Egyptian actor Ahmed Ezz to pay £23,304 (EGP 1 million) to his ex-wife actress Zeina.
This comes after Zeina had filed a lawsuit demanding educational expenses from Ezz Ezz.
During the hearing of the case at first instance, Moataz Al-Dakr, Zeina’s lawyer, presented a memorandum of Ezz’s wages in the 2019 film “El-Mamarr”, the 2018 TV series “Abo Omar El-Masry”, and his TV commercials.
The former couple has been in a legal battle since 2014. Zeina married Ezz on June 15, 2012, in the presence of her family and then they traveled to the USA to document the marriage in the Egyptian consulate.
The marriage hit a rocky road when the actress returned from the United States to Egypt in January 2014 with twin boys, Ezzeddine and Zineddine, announcing they were the actor's sons.
“I gave birth in October in the US, and in the meantime, Ahmed Ezz’s father got ill, so he had to go to Egypt, and the agreement was that he would come to the US again to pay the costs of childbirth and the hospital, and he did not come, so I decided to get separated from him,” she said in a 2020 interview.
Zeina revealed that when he learned about this he decided not to pay the costs, which was followed by the crisis of the claiming of her sons by her husband.
Ezz denied the claims, but she has done a DNA test to verify her claims. The actress filed a lawsuit in May 2014 saying the pair wedded in June 2012 through a customary marriage (orfi).
In 2015, the Cairo family court ruled in Zeina’s favor and proved that the children were Ezz's after he refused to do the test.
