Coronavirus (COVID-19) has now infected a total of over 30 million people worldwide, according to figures from Worldomater.

The virus has killed over 944,000 people around the world.

This comes 18 days after global COVID-19 infections surpassed 25 million globally.

The United States has the highest number of COVID-19 infections, followed by India, Brazil, and Russia.

Global new daily case numbers reached record levels in recent days and deaths neared 1 million as the international race to develop and market a vaccine heated up, according to Reuters.

The official number of global coronavirus cases is now more than five times the number of severe influenza illnesses recorded annually, according to World Health Organization data.
