The Cairo International Book Fair (CIBF) has recorded an unprecedented public turnout, with nearly a quarter of a million visitors attending in a single day, reflecting strong public interest in the event.

Attendance is expected to rise further as the day coincides with an official public holiday. Egyptian families continue to regard the book fair as both a cultural and recreational destination.

The fair is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with extended hours until 9:00 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays. Favorable winter weather has also contributed to the high turnout, with temperatures reaching a high of 21°C and a low of 12°C under sunny skies.

Several measures have been introduced to facilitate visitor access, including improved traffic flow on roads leading to the venue and a streamlined electronic ticketing system that allows visitors to book entry tickets in under three minutes through the official Cairo Book Fair platforms.

The Ministry of Culture has allocated a hotline to receive complaints during the fair, in addition to launching an official website that enables those unable to attend in person to browse available titles and place orders for home delivery.

The 57th edition of the CIBF is expected to be the largest in its history, featuring 6,637 exhibitors representing 1,457 publishing houses from 83 countries—an unprecedented level of international participation.
