DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn is celebrating both the legacy of the Man of Steel and the actor who originated him on the big screen with a special cameo.

The late Christopher Reeve experienced his greatest commercial success playing Superman and his alter ego Clark Kent in the first four Superman movies. Now, his youngest son, journalist and ABC News correspondent Will Reeve, will make a cameo playing a TV reporter in the upcoming Superman movie, which will kick off the rebooted DC Universe under the supervision of him and his DC Studios co-head Peter Safran.

Principal photography is currently taking place in Cleveland, Ohio.

David Corenswet stars as Superman in the character’s latest revival, written and directed by Gunn.

The movie also features Emmy winner Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Superman’s infamous villain Lex Luthor, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Nathan Fillon as Guy Gardner, and Isabela Mercad as Hawkgirl.

“Superman” is set to hit theaters on July 11, 2025.
