Chico and Yasmin Raeis are set to star in actor Mohamed Emam’s film "Saqr Wi Kanarya".
It is scripted by Ayman Wattar, directed by Hussein El Menbawy, and produced by Wael Abdullah.
Principal photography is set to begin next week and will be shot in multiple locations including Egypt and London.
"Saqr Wi Kanarya" marks the second collaboration between Emam and Raeis after the 2020 film “Lis Bagdad”.
Emam was last seen in the film "El Leab Ma El Eyal".
The pic hails from acclaimed filmmaker Sherif Arafa and marks the first collaboration between Arafa and Mohamed Emam, the son of his long-time collaborator Adel Emam.
“El Leab Ma El Eyal” features an ensemble cast that includes Asmaa Galal, Bayoumi Fouad, Bassem Samra, Haggag Abdul Azim, Wizo, Mustafa Gharib, and more.
The film, produced by United Artists for Cinema and Video, tells the story of a young man who faces a number of crises and hardships that turn his life upside down in a comedic framework.
Emam, born on December 16, 1984, comes from an artistic family as his father is ‘El Zaeem’ actor Adel Emam and the younger brother of director Rami Emam.
He first began his acting career as a child co-starring alongside his father in the 1990 film “Hanafi El Abha” (The Magnificent Hanafi).
Emam landed his first major role as an adult in the 2003 TV series “Kanaria and Shorkah”.
The actor also held roles in TV shows "El Nemr", “Hogan”, “Lam’yy El Ott”,” Saheb El Saada”,” Firqat Naji Atallah”,” Khatout Hamra", “Bilshama’a El Ahmar”, and “Khatut Hamra”.
Emam got his first leading role in the 2009 film “Al Beeh Romansy” (The Romantic Bey).
On the film side his credits include "Amohom", “Lis Bagdad”, “Lelyt Hana w Sorour”, “Gahim Fe El Hend”, “Captain Masr”,” Al-Bayh Romancy”, “Hassan and Marcus”, and “The Yacoubian Building”.
