Marvel fans love a crossover and rumors on social media have been flying about Daredevil swinging by the Spider-Man: Brand New Day universe.
During an appearance on the Phase Hero podcast, Charlie Cox addressed the rumors circulating about a possible cameo in the Tom Holland film.
“Well, I don’t read anything, so I don’t know [what fans are saying online],” Cox said. “I know that they all think I’m in Spider-Man because I’m filming something in London, which I’m not. I’m not in Spider-Man…I’m just concentrating on DD right now.”
Despite Cox ruling out appearing in "Spider-Man: Brand New Day", rumors will continue as Marvel stars are known to downplay their involvement due to being sworn to secrecy to maintain the element of surprise.
Although Daredevil’s cameo is not confirmed, it has been reported that Mark Ruffalo will reprise his role of The Hulk in Brand New Day and Jon Bernthal’s The Punisher will also make an appearance alongside Holland in the new Spider-Man film.
"Spider-Man: Brand New Day" started filming in Scotland in August with Holland marking the occasion saying, “I feel good, man. It’s day one, my fourth ever day one on Spider-Man. You know, it’s funny, putting the suit on, it feels different this time, somehow. It’s also the first time we’ve ever had fans on set for day one, so it’s really exciting to share this with them. We’ve got some familiar faces on set. I’m just gonna do my best, hopefully get it right. No pressure.”
Filming for the movie was halted for a week in September after Holland suffered a concussion on the set.
"Spider-Man: Brand New Day" is set to swing back into theaters on July 31, 2026.
The film will be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, who also directed "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings".
