Hollywood stars Channing Tatum and Tom Hardy will collaborate for the first time in Universal Pictures' movie about the Afghanistan evacuation.

The untitled movie is an original pitch from George Nolfi and is based on reported true stories from the evacuation.

The plot focuses on three former special forces team members who jump back into the fray alongside their Afghan counterparts, to rescue families and allies left behind amid the rapid fall of Afghanistan last August.

Jules Daly, Tatum, and Hardy will produce alongside Reid Carolin and Peter Kiernan of Free Association with Nolfi serving as an executive producer.

Tatum will appear in "Dog", which he co-directed with Reid Carolin, as well as star opposite Sandra Bullock in "The Lost City".

Hardy is coming off the hit sequel" Venom: Let There Be Carnage", and wrapped Gareth Evans-directed Netflix thriller"Havoc".
