Oscar-winner Catherine Zeta-Jones has signed on as a co-lead opposite Lisette Alexis in Disney+ live-action series "National Treasure".

The new series focuses on a brilliant and resourceful DREAMer who embarks on the adventure of a lifetime to uncover the truth about the past and save a lost Pan-American treasure.

Zeta-Jones will play Billie, a badass billionaire, a black-market antiquities expert, and treasure hunter who lives by her code. She transformed herself from a penniless orphan to the woman she was today. Billie’s used to getting what she wants—and she wants the Pan-American treasure.

The pilot episode of "National Treasure" is written by the Wibberleys and will be directed by Mira Nair. Production is set to begin this month in Baton Rouge.

Executive producers includes Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman, KristieAnne Reed, Cormac and Marianne Wibberley as well as Nair and Turteltau.

Rick Muirragui will also serve as executive producer, who also serves as a writer.

The series also stars Lyndon Smith, Zuri Reed, Jake Austin Walker, Antonio Cipriano, and Jordan Rodrigues.

Zeta-Jones recently starred in the Lifetime original movie "Cocaine Godmother", based on the true-life story of the notorious drug lord, Griselda Blanco.
