Two-time Oscar winner Cate Blanchett has been announced as a guest of honor at the 8th edition of El Gouna Film Festival (GFF), running from October 16-24.
The acting legend, known for outings in The Lord of the Rings, The Aviator, Blue Jasmine, Tár and more, will also be presented with the Champion of Humanity Award for her remarkable career and work in centering the voices of refugees and those forcibly displaced.
Since her Oscar-nominated breakout performance as Queen Elizabeth I in 1998’s Elizabeth, Blanchett has surpassed 100 onscreen credits, in addition to producing several projects, including Carol (2015), FX’s Mrs. America (2020), Tár (2022), Rumours (2024) and her 2024 Apple TV+ series Disclaimer.
