Catania Football Club today welcomed Dr. Zahi Hawass, one of the world’s most renowned Egyptologists, well known for his great passion for football and his lifelong support for Egypt’s Al Ahly SC.
He was received by Club President Rosario Pelligra, Vice President Vincenzo Grella, Sporting Director Ivano Pastore, and Head Coach Domenico Toscano, who accompanied him during his meeting with the players and expressed their delight at his visit.
During the encounter, Catania players spoke of their knowledge of Al Ahly’s rich history, and highlighted their admiration for global football star Mohamed Salah and Egyptian football legend Magdy Abdelghany, underlining their respect for Egyptian football and its iconic figures.
In a special gesture of appreciation, the team presented Dr. Hawass with an official Catania jersey inscribed with his name, marking the occasion and celebrating his visit.
