Faculty of Arts at the Capital University Honors Sherif Ged and Expands Cultural Cooperation with Russia
In a distinguished academic and cultural atmosphere, Dr. Ahmed El-Rawy, Dean of the Faculty of Arts at Capital University (formerly Helwan University), honored Mr. Sherif Ged, Director of Cultural Activities at the Russian Cultural Center in Cairo, President of the Egyptian Association of Graduates of Russian and Soviet Universities, and Secretary-General of the Egyptian-Russian Friendship Association.
The ceremony took place at the Faculty of Arts in the presence of Dr. Abdel-Moneim El-Nagm, Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research; Dr. Mohamed El-Tounsy, Head of the Department of Archaeology and Civilization and Deputy Director of the Quality Assurance Unit; and Dr. Engy Lotfy, Assistant Professor at the Department of Media and coordinator of training workshops and cooperation with media institutions.
The meeting discussed avenues for joint cooperation between the Faculty of Arts, the Russian Cultural Center, and the Egyptian-Russian Friendship Association in the fields of training, workshops, and cultural and artistic activities. These efforts aim to enhance students’ skills, broaden their academic experience, and strengthen cultural and academic exchange between both sides.

Discussions also included strengthening ties between Capital University and Russian universities, preparing for the establishment of a Russian language department at the faculty, and exploring the possibility of hosting Russian university students to study the Arabic language. The participants further agreed to organize a Russian Cultural Day at the university, with the participation of members of the Russian community in Egypt.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Dr. Ahmed El-Rawy presented the honorary shield to Mr. Sherif Ged in recognition of his outstanding efforts in supporting cultural activities and fostering cooperation with academic institutions. He emphasized the importance of continued coordination to implement joint initiatives and programs in the coming period.
