Canada’s Niagara Falls site — one of the world's most visited tourist spots — was lit up with the Egyptian flag colors for the third consecutive year on Friday night to mark Egypt’s 23 July revolution.

This came as part of massive celebrations and diplomatic events organized by the Egyptian embassy in Canada throughout the month of July to commemorate the event and also the Egyptian Heritage Month, which is celebrated in July yearly in Canada.

Many members of the Egyptian community alongside a number of high-ranking diplomatic figures in Canada participated in these events as the embassy has invited them to participate in this national celebration and to observe the occasion together.

It's worth mentioning that this year marks the 70th anniversary of the 1952 revolution which secured the country's independence from the longtime British occupation and instituted wide social, political, and economic reforms.
