Cairo Univ. Engineering Faculty to Explore Pyramids Using Advanced Tech

Dr. Mohamed Othman El-Khosht the Cairo university President said that the Engineering Faculty is currently implementing an international project to explore the pyramids using modern non-harmful and non-destructive technology.

The technology tools to be utilized include space muon particle monitoring devices, thermal infrared, three models, and 3D laser monitoring.

The university is collaborating with the Japanese Universities of Nagoya and Paval Canada, scientific teams from the Technology Munich University and the Italian University of Valencia, under the supervision of Antiquities Ministry.

El-Khosht explained that the Engineering Faculty participates through its multiple consultative centers in a number of national projects.

The faculty braces to use solar energy to feed and operate communications devices as a single source to work 24 hours, without interruption in remote places in unpopulated areas throughout the republic and away from electricity networks

The university is striving to achieve a permanent and continuous communication, in addition to supervising the implementation of the project to develop training grounds for African teams and upgrage all stadiums intended to host the African Nations Cup matches in future.

The project includes designing and supervising the implementation of the development of youth cities in each of (Luxor - Aswan - Ras al-Bar - Bir al-Abd - Halayeb), in addition to the implementation and development 122 penta stadiums belonging to the Youth and Sports Ministry.

Dr. Al-Khosht asserted his full support to the Faculty of Engineering as a developmental asset for the nation and one of the scientific castles, which provides the required support for its scientists in all projects and research.

The Faculty is exerting great effort to achieve the university's strategy in the development and transition to the stage of third-generation universities and to raise the name of Cairo University in local and international forums.
