The new artistic season 2023-2024 of the Cairo Opera Company, led by Dr. Tahia Shams El-Din, will be launched with a performance of Mozart's opera The Magic Flute.

Directed by Hisham El-Tali, the international performance will include the Cairo Opera Orchestra conducted by Maestro Ahmed Farag, and the Cairo Opera Choir, coached by Mina Hanna.

The modern theatrical dance troupe will also participate, and translations in Arabic and English will be displayed on the theater's side screens.

The show will run for four nights, starting at 8:30 pm on Thursday and Friday, September 28 and 29, and Sunday and Monday, October 1 and 2, at the Grand Theater.

The Magic Flute takes place in Egypt during the reign of Ramesses I, in the New Kingdom era. Most of the events occur in the vicinity of the Temple of Isis in Memphis, which was Egypt's capital during the Old Kingdom.
