Cairo was named the tourism capital of the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) for 2026, according to the Ministry of Tourism.
This announcement came during the preparatory sessions of the OIC member states in Uzbekistan, with the participation of a delegation from the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, including Deputy Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Ghada Shalabi.
On his part, Minister of Tourism Ahmed Issa praised the choice of Cairo as the tourist capital of the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation for the year 2026, in light of its diverse tourism potential.
The Minister also stressed the Ministry's efforts to develop the "Cairo City Break" tour, which will make Cairo a unique tourist destination.
