Major General Khaled Abdel Aal, the governor of Cairo, appealed to citizens not to leave homes and go out except in cases of necessity.
The governor urged the citizens to stay at home to facilitate the work of the concerned agencies in lifting and removing accumulation of rainwater from the streets and managing the traffic movement.
He also directed all concerned agencies and neighborhoods leaders to take all measures that would preserve the safety of citizens.
The governor stressed the need for the rapid deployment of equipment and emergency response team in the capital's streets to be ready to deal with any emergency notices.
