EMA: Unstable Weather to Continue Until Friday

Experts of the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) predicted that a wave of unstable weather will hit the country, starting from today, Wednesday, and will continue until Friday.

Thunderstorms will prevail in many governorates accompanied by wind activity.

EMA also unveiled its forecast for the areas the bad weather spell is predicted to hit, as follows.

  • Wednesday

The experts predict that pleasant weather will prevail in Cairo, and Lower Egypt, the northeastern coasts, and northern Upper Egypt, during daylight hours on Wednesday.

They also predict that moderate rain will hit in Cairo, Giza, and Qalyubia, while moderate to torrential thunderstorms sometimes in some areas of Lower Egypt such as Kafr El Sheikh, Beheira, Dakahlia, Gharbia, Sharqia, and Menoufia.

Meanwhile, heavy rains, sometimes thunderstorms, will hit some areas of the northern coasts such as Alexandria, Marsa Matrouh, El Salloum, Rashid, Damietta, Port Said, Al-Arish, and Rafah.

Light to moderate rains will prevail in some areas of northern Upper Egypt including Fayoum, Beni Suef, and Minya.

The winds are moderate at times in Cairo, Lower Egypt, the northeastern coasts, South Sinai, and northern Upper Egypt, while active on the western coasts.

The experts also predict that cold weather will prevail in Egypt, at night.

Temperatures predicted for the following cities are: 21C in Cairo, 19C in Alexandria, 25C in Luxor, 26C in Qena, and 28C in Aswan.

  • Thursday

The experts predict that pleasant weather will prevail in Cairo, Lower Egypt, the northeastern coasts, and northern Upper Egypt, during daylight hours on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the western coasts will see cold weather, which will be moderate in South Sinai and southern Upper Egypt.

They predict that there is a 50% chance for moderate rain to hit in some areas of Cairo.

It is also predicted that moderate to torrential rain, sometimes thunderstorm, will prevail at approximately 70% in some areas of Lower Egypt and the canal cities including, Kafr El Sheikh, Beheira, Dakahlia – Gharbia, Sharqia, Menoufia, Ismailia, and Suez.

Meanwhile, heavy rain, sometimes thunderstorms, will hit will at approximately 80% in some areas of the northern coasts, such as Alexandria, Marsa Matrouh, El Salloum, Rashid, Baltim, Damietta, Port Said, Al-Arish, and Rafah.

Winds will be moderate, sometimes active, in Cairo and northern Upper Egypt, northern coasts, and the Red Sea.

The experts also predict that cold weather will prevail in Egypt, at night.

Temperatures predicted for the following cities are: 21C in Cairo, 21C in Lower Egypt, 19C in northwestern coasts, 20C in the northeastern coasts and central Sinai, 25C in the South Sinai and the Red Sea mountain ranges, 21C in northern Upper Egypt, and 25C in southern Upper Egypt.

The experts predict that pleasant weather will prevail in Egypt, during daylight hours on Friday.

Meanwhile, moderate weather will hit southern Sinai and southern Upper Egypt.

They predict that there is a 30% chance for moderate rain to hit in some areas Cairo, and the Canal cities.

It is also predicted that moderate rain at approximately 50% will prevail in some areas of Lower Egypt including, Kafr El Sheikh, Beheira, Dakahlia, Gharbia, Sharqia, and Menoufia.

Meanwhile, moderate to heavy rains at approximately 60% will hit some areas of the northern coasts such as Alexandria, Marsa Matrouh, El Salloum, Rashid, Damietta, Port Said, Al-Arish, and Rafah.

The experts also predict that cold weather will prevail in Egypt, at night.

Meanwhile, the northern and southern Upper Egypt will see extremely cold weather.

Temperatures predicted for the following cities are: 20C in Cairo, 20C in Lower Egypt, 19C in northwestern coasts, 20C in the northeastern coasts and central Sinai, 18C in the South Sinai and the Red Sea mountain ranges, 21C in northern Upper Egypt, and 24C in southern Upper Egypt.
