The Cairo Film Market officially opened today, Saturday, November 15, under the auspices of Cairo Industry Days at the 46th Cairo International Film Festival, inaugurated by the star Hussein Fahmy, President of the Festival.
In his speech, Fahmy welcomed the market’s guests, all participating companies, entities, distributors, and supporting institutions. He then took the attendees on a tour of the various sections and exhibitor spaces.
Mohamed Said Abdelrahim, Director of Cairo Industry Days, expressed his happiness at the launch of the second edition of the Cairo Film Market, following last year’s successful session. He emphasized that the participation of more than 20 production companies and supporting institutions indicates we are moving in the right direction towards establishing a cinematic environment that enables filmmakers to form partnerships to execute their projects.
The Cairo Film Market is a major hub on the Arab cinema industry map, providing a comprehensive professional platform for participants to showcase and develop their projects and to learn about the latest trends in production and distribution. This reflects the Cairo International Film Festival’s commitment to supporting the cinema industry in the region and enhancing the skills of professionals, in line with global industry developments.
