The Customs Authority at Cairo International Airport, headed by Dr. Magdy Moussa, Director of the Central Administration of Cairo Airport Customs, has reported nine customs seizure cases in Terminal 2. The operations were conducted under the supervision of Mr. Ahmed Saad Abdel-Muttaleb, Director General of Passenger Customs at Terminal 2, as part of a total of 30 seizure reports across the Central Administration.
The First Customs Administration, led by Mostafa Helmy El-Gendy, with his deputy Ahmed Omar, recorded three seizures:
• Case No. 103/2025: An Arab passenger arriving from Dubai on Emirates Airlines attempted to smuggle two luxury watches (Rolex and Patek Philippe). The inspection team included Mostafa Mohamed and Hossam Magdy (manual inspection officers), Ashraf Hassan and Farag Hamdy (X-ray inspection), under the supervision of Khaled Ramadan, Head of Movement.
• Case No. 106/2025: An Egyptian passenger arriving from Rome on Alitalia Airlines was caught with seven bladed weapons. The inspection team included Ahmed Khairy Radwan and Ahmed Atta Allah (manual inspection), with Yasser Balygh and Mohamed Salah from X-ray inspection, under George Alfons, Head of Movement.
• Case No. 110/2025: An Asian passenger from Dubai was caught with 271 strips of Tramadol, a controlled substance. The inspection team included Ahmed Khairy, Islam Raafat, Ahmed Shaaban, and Khaled Mohamed Abdel-Rahman, supervised by Khaled Ramadan.
The Second Customs Administration, led by Sobhy Rabie and his deputy Ibrahim Hassan, recorded two cases:
• Case No. 107/2025: An Egyptian passenger arriving from Dubai attempted to smuggle 214 dental equipment packages hidden inside speakers. The inspection team included Sayed Fouad, Hossam Hamdy Gomaa, Youssef Hamed, Islam Ghazaly, and Hany Mostafa, with participation from Ayman Ali and Ahmed Morsi, under Milad Rasmy, Head of Movement.
• Case No. 109/2025: An Egyptian passenger was caught concealing gold bars (three weighing 100g, six weighing 50g, and two gold coins) without declaration. The inspection team included Ahmed Morsi, Ayman Ali, Ahmed Rashdy, Mostafa Morsi, Osama Abdel-Tawab, Amr Khaled, Walid Abdel-Sattar, and Mohamed Gomaa, under Milad Rasmy.
The Third Customs Administration, led by Ahmed Hussein Al-Haksh and deputy Hani Abu Taleb, recorded two cases:
• Case No. 102/2025: In coordination with the Airport Anti-Narcotics Unit, an international passenger arriving from London on British Airways was found in possession of 42 grams of hashish-mixed tobacco. The operation was led by Saeed Abdel-Nabi and Mahmoud Saeed Gowhar, Head of Movement.
• Case No. 104/2025: An Egyptian passenger from Dubai attempted to smuggle 33 pieces of gold jewelry without declaration. The inspection team included Ahmed Gamal Rashdy, Mohamed Hassan Abdel-Wahab, Mohamed Abdel-Mohsen, Ahmed El-Beheiry, and Mohamed Ibrahim Abdel-Moghny, under Sherif Barakat, Head of Movement.
The Fourth Customs Administration, headed by Ahmed Abdel-Hady with deputy Alaa Shehata, also recorded two cases:
• Case No. 105/2025: An Egyptian passenger from Dubai attempted to smuggle 24 mobile phones. The inspection team included Karim Gharib, Mohamed Gad Atefy, Youssef Massaad, and Ahmed El-Sherif, under Khaled Shaaban, Head of Movement.
• Case No. 108/2025: Another Egyptian passenger from Dubai tried to smuggle 1,270 vials of stem cell regeneration medication. The team included Mohamed Talaat, Sami Nabil, Moamen Shoukry, Ammar Sabry, Haitham Ragab, Shimaa Ali, Noura Nouman, and Mostafa Fadel, under Khaled Shaaban.
These operations were conducted in close coordination between the Central Administration for Passenger Customs at Cairo Airport (led by Dr. Magdy Moussa) and the Central Administration for Compliance Technology Customs, headed by Dr. Saad Salem, with the assistance of Ahmed Abdel-Raouf and Mohamed Afifi, Directors of the Airport X-ray Inspection Department.
The seizures come under the continuous supervision of Mr. Ahmed El-Amawy, Head of the Customs Authority, with support from Mr. Ahmed Kouchouk, Egypt’s Minister of Finance.
