BTS’s Jin underwent surgery after injuring his left index finger during his daily activities, the Big Hit Music agency announced on Saturday.
Jin had undergone surgery to repair a damaged tendon in the finger the day prior and it went well, the agency stated, noting that he will temporarily be resting in order to focus on making a full recovery.
"The surgery went well according to the doctors. Jin was discharged from the hospital on the morning of Saturday, March 19 and has been resting. He will wear a cast for the time being for stabilization and a speedy recovery," Big Hit's statement read.
"We will continue to provide support for the rapid recovery of Jin, placing our highest priority on the health and safety of our artists."
Meanwhile, BTS's fans took it to social media to wish the K-pop star a speedy recovery with the #GetWellSoonJin hashtag.
Last December, Jin tested positive for COVID-19 along with another BTS member, RM.
“Rapper RM and singer Jin were diagnosed with the virus a day following their return to South Korea from the group’s first pandemic-era concerts in the US,” Big Hit said.
