The first look at Brendan Fraser’s new movie "The Whale" has been unveiled.

The movie stars Fraser as a reclusive English teacher living with severe obesity, who attempts to reconnect with his estranged teenage daughter, played by Sadie Sink.

It also stars Hong Chau, Ty Simpkins, and Samantha Morton, and others.

"The Whale" is directed by Darren Aronofsky and is based on the acclaimed play by Samuel D. Hunter of the same name.

The movie received its world premiere in Venice to an extended ovation, from where it went on to equally enthusiastic welcomes in Toronto and London.

Fraser is also a front-runner in the Best Actor category of the Academy Awards.

In the meantime, he kicked off awards season in Toronto as the recipient of the TIFF Tribute Award for Performance and is also set to receive the Santa Barbara Film Festival’s American Riviera Award in February 2023.

Aronofsky previously shared that he spent 10 years searching for the right actor to play Charlie in "The Whale", describing the process as the “biggest hurdle” of making the movie.
