In a bid to promote Egyptian tourism, Ahmed Ali, Director General of Foreign Offices of the Central Administration of Tourism Offices, met with 35 representatives of Brazilian tourism companies during their visit to Egypt.
During the meeting, Ali highlighted the efforts made by the Egyptian state to improve its infrastructure and develop several tourism areas, including the northern coast and the new city of El Alamein, as well as the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), which is expected to attract around 5 million visitors annually and will be considered the most tourist attractions in a short time.
He also reviewed the tourism and archaeological components of the Egyptian tourist destination and the efforts undertaken by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion to promote the Egyptian tourist destination in various tourist markets.
In turn, Andresa Araujo, Chairman of the Board of Directors of one of the Brazilian tour operators, also appreciated the role played by the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion in all international forums to promote the Egyptian tourist destination, expressing her hopes for the speedy launch of the direct Cairo-Sao Paulo airline line in the near future, which will contribute to increasing tourist movement not only from Brazil, but also from the entire Latin American continent.
The visit program included a tour during which a number of tourist and archaeological sites were visited in Cairo, Hurghada, and Alexandria, in addition to a Nile cruise from Aswan to Luxor.
