Lisa of megastar girl group Blackpink is set to take the stage at the 2025 Academy Awards, making history as the first K-pop idol to perform at the prestigious ceremony.
The Academy announced early Tuesday on X that the Thai artist would perform at the 97th Academy Awards, also known as the Oscars, be held at the Dolby Theatre on Sunday, March 2 at 4 p.m. PT and 7 p.m. ET.
Lisa —born Lalisa Manobal— will be joined by American rapper Doja Cat and British singer-songwriter Raye, whom she collaborated with for her single "Born Again," released in early February.
Conan O’Brien will host the 97th Oscars ceremony, which is aired on ABC or streamed live on Hulu, and Disney+ for Filipinos. The red carpet begins airing at 30 minutes before the show.
The production team includes executive producer and showrunner Raj Kapoor, executive producer Katy Mullan, co-executive producer Rob Pain, and producers Sarah Levine Hall, Taryn Hurd, Jeff Ross and Mike Sweeney.
Mandy Moore is the supervising choreographer, and Noah Mitz and Bob Dickinson will be the lighting designers. Hamish Hamilton will direct the show.
Apart from the performance, Lisa is also gearing up to drop her debut album "Alter Ego" on February 28.
