Blackpink member and actress Jisoo is set to receive the Madame Figaro Rising Star Award at the Cannes International Series Festival (Canneseries), taking place April 23-28 in Cannes.

The award, which honors a personality who has become a major figure in the industry, will be presented during the festival’s opening ceremony on April 23.

Past recipients include Sydney Sweeney, Daisy Edgar-Jones, Marie Colomb, Ella Purnell, Morfydd Clark, and Phoebe Dynevor.

Canneseries with its cheerful pop aesthetic is in fact the ultimate crossroads between those who make series and those who love them.

For six days, screenwriters and actors meet on the now famous pink carpet of le Palais des Festivals et des Congrès.

The event, fresh and glamorous, is free for the general public, who can attend the screenings and catch a glimpse of the stars on the “pink carpet”.

Canneseries artistic director Albin Lewi said Jisoo’s “artistic journey, her ability to conquer new creative territories, and her global aura” made her the ideal honoree. He described the upcoming ceremony as “already shaping up to be one of the highlights of this new season.”

In recent years, Jisoo has built a parallel career as an actress. She took on her first leading television role in the 2021 Korean series “Snowdrop,” which drew significant domestic and international attention before making a special appearance in the 2023 film “Dr. Cheon and the Lost Talisman.”

In 2025, she starred in the film “Omniscient Reader: The Prophecy” and the series “Newtopia.”
