Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received on Saturday US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, according to Emirati news agency "WAM".
They discussed ways to boost bilateral ties between both countries, in addition to key regional and international issues of common interest.
Both sides also exchanged views on the latest developments in the Arab Gulf region and the Middle East (ME), as well as efforts and moves aimed at resolving the region’s crises and containing tensions in them through dialogue and diplomatic means.
Moreover, they tackled joint action to support the foundations of regional peace and stability in addition to the dangers of extremism, terrorism, hate speech, underlining the need for effective international action to confront them.
In the same context, they touched upon the peace treaty signed by the UAE and Israel, the "Abraham Agreement" and its importance in starting a new phase of relations and cooperation between countries in the ME.
It is worth mentioning that, Pompeo arrived in the UAE on Friday as part of a 10-day, seven-nation trip to Europe and the Middle East that focuses on counterterrorism and religious freedom.
