US President Joe Biden announced on Friday that the US succeeded in giving more than a million COVID-19 vaccine doses in only 24 hours.

Biden tweeted: "We have administered over one million COVID-19 vaccine doses in the past 24 hours — that’s the highest number in seven weeks."

After that the US President called unvaccinated people to have their shots to assist the states to defeat the pandemic, saying, "If you haven’t yet, please get vaccinated. Let’s keep this momentum going and defeat COVID-19."

In the same context, the US President called all social media platforms to end any forms of vaccine misinformation, and impose more control against superspreaders who post mistaken information about the vaccination rollout.

Therefore, leading social media network Facebook removed thousands of pages that stream and post wrong information about COVID-19 vaccines this week.

According to a newly issued report by the Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH), at least 12 accounts, described as superspreaders, were shut down due to posting the majority of anti-vaccination misinformation online.

Although the social network denied the process of calculating the primary accounts that spread vaccine misinformation, the platform revealed that it removed dozens of pages, and groups on Facebook, and Instagram that linked to those 12 people for violating Facebook policies.

In a blog-post posted by the platform, it mentioned: “We have also imposed penalties on nearly two dozen additional Pages, groups or accounts linked to these 12 people.”
