President Joe Biden held a phone call with Vladimir Putin proposing a summit talks in the coming months, the White House announced on Tuesday.
Both leaders need to discuss a number of regional issues including the latest Ukrainian crisis.
This call is the second between both leaders since Biden took the office early this year.
During the call, the US President touched upon the latest Russian military activities in Crimea, and the US claims of the Russian cyper interference in the US elections.
The White House highlighted in the statement: “President Biden emphasized the United States’ unwavering commitment to Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity,” the White House said.
Until now, there is no response from the Russia side regards the proposal.
