Barclays Warns Oil Prices Could Test $150 within Three Months

Oil prices could surge sharply in the coming months, with Barclays warning that spot crude prices may test the $150-per-barrel level within three months if current market disruptions persist.

The investment bank said continued pressure on global oil supplies could expose prices to significant upside risks, depending on how long the current conditions last.

Barclays estimated that if the present situation continues for another one, two, or three months, oil prices could rise by approximately $2, $7, or $10 per barrel, respectively, compared with the bank's 2026 Brent crude price forecast of $96 per barrel.

The warning reflects growing concerns over geopolitical tensions, potential supply disruptions, and uncertainty surrounding major oil-producing regions. Persistent risks affecting shipping routes, production flows, and energy infrastructure have increased volatility across global crude markets.

A sustained disruption lasting several months could significantly tighten available supplies and push benchmark crude prices well above current forecasts, increasing pressure on energy costs worldwide.

Barclays' outlook highlights the sensitivity of oil markets to prolonged supply shocks, as traders continue to monitor geopolitical developments and their potential impact on global energy security.
