Bangladesh Plans to Establish 1st Foreign Embassy in Egypt's New Capital

On Wednesday, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs held ameeting with a Bangladeshi official delegation, who is visiting Egypt, to receive the plot of land purchased by the Bangladeshi government to establish a new embassy headquarters in the New Administrative Capital (NAC).

Ambassador Yasser Reda, Assistant Foreign Minister for Financial and Administrative Affairs and the New Administrative Capital, received the Bangladeshi delegation, which included representatives of the Prime Minister and the ministries of foreign affairs, finance, planning, and cultural affairs, as well as the Bangladeshi ambassador in Cairo, Monirul Islam.

During the meeting, the delegation members expressed their appreciation for the close relations between Egypt and Bangladesh, stressing their country’s pride in enhancing friendship ties between the two countries.

They also voiced their great happiness that Bangladesh is the first country to start the procedures for establishing the first foreign embassy in the new administrative capital.

The delegation members also praised the great achievements during their field tour at the new administrative capital, expressign their aspiration that the new embassy in Egypt to be a center for Bangladesh’s relations with the countries of the region and a springboard for cooperation with Africa in various fields.

On his part, Ambassador Yasser Reda expressed his appreciation for the step taken by the Bangladeshi government, which reflects the depth of relations between the two countries, and also reflects the political will of Egypt and Bangladesh to further strengthen relations and give them great impetus in various fields.
