The British Academy has confirmed the 2025 BAFTA Film Awards will be held on Sunday, February 16.

This means the the awards — arguably the biggest film awards outside the U.S. — will take place two weeks before the Oscars, which are due to take place March 2, 2025.

Moreover, the BAFTA awards will, once again, be held during the Berlinale, set to run February 13-23, with there likely to be a spike in industry professionals flying back to London on the morning of February 16.

The organization did not announce the location of the awards, which this year took place at the Royal Festival Hall in London.

The event took place three weeks before the Oscars. The big winners on the night were Oppenheimer, Poor Things and The Zone Of Interest.

It was watched by three million people nationally on BBC One on average, and 3.8 million people at its peak, the highest viewing figures since 2020. On the night, there were also 20.6m video views of ceremony highlights on BAFTA’s social media platforms.

Voting takes place over three rounds: longlisting, nominations , and winners, by the academy’s global voting film membership – comprising 7,800 industry creatives.

The full timeline and eligibility details for the 2025 BAFTA Film Awards will be announced in  the coming months.
