Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) in cooperation with Zahi Hawass institute for Egyptology organized a lecture on “The secrets and treasures of Bahariya Oasis” by Dr. Fatima Abdel Rasoul at Bayt Al-Sinnari in Cairo.
The lecture tackled many issues including; Bahariya oasis and its geographical location; the oasis through historical times; the old and new roads leading to it, in addition to its distinctive treasures and monuments.
The program aims at educating young people about the history of ancient Egypt, raising the archaeological awareness among Egyptian school and university students, as well as emphasizing the Egyptian identity through the great achievements of ancient Egyptians in all fields, according to BA director Dr. Moustafa Al-Fekki.
It is scheduled that BA, and Zahi Hawass institute for Egyptology, will provide several specialized archaeological courses for young people during the coming period.
The courses will deal with ancient Egyptian times, from early dynastic to late Predynastic, then Greco-Roman, Coptic, Islamic and modern times.
