Aya Samaha Joins Film "Bahr"

Egyptian actress Aya Samaha has recently joined the cast of the film "Bahr" ("Sea").

The cast also features Essam Omar, Gihan El Shamashergy, Rahma Ahmed, Hatem Salah, Bayoumi Fouad, and Mohamed Abduo.

Written by Haitham Dabbour and directed by Ahmed Alaa, the pic marks the second collaboration between Omar and El Shamashergy after the 2025 TV series "Batal El Alam" ("World Champion").

Principal photography is set to commence soon.

Samaha made his last appearance on the big screen in the romance film "6 Ayam" ('6 Days'), starring Ahmed Malek.

The pic hails from director Karim Shaaban, in his full-length feature film debut. 

Shaaban directs the pic from a script by Wael Hamdy. ‎Sea Cinema Productions‎ is the studio behind the film.

The film follows Youssef and Alia, who  meet again by chance years after a forced separation during high school. With each on a different life path. 

The reunion stirs up memories and raises new possibilities, blending themes of love, friendship, and life’s unexpected turns. As they navigate who they've become, the story reflects on whether feelings endure or evolve as we grow and mature.

"6 Ayam" hit Cinemas in Egypt on January 15 and in the Arab World on January 16. It has grossed more than EGP24.2 million in theaters.

Samaha, born on March 31, 1992, started her acting career with the 2016 film "Hepta: The Last Lecture" and received more onscreen time in the 2016 mystery TV series "Grand Hotel".

In 2020, she starred in Netflix's series "Paranormal", based on Ahmed Khaled Tawfik's supernatural novel "Ma Waraa Al Tabiaa".

Her TV credits also include "Malika", "Rageen Ya Hawa", "Seeb Wana Aseeb", "El Soffara", and “Ala Bab Al-Omara”.
