In a refined and heartfelt gesture reflecting deep respect and appreciation, the Egyptian Tourism Federation, headed by Hossam El-Shaer, presented a symbolic and distinguished gift to Dr. Khaled El-Enany, former Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, on the occasion of his candidacy for the position of Director-General of UNESCO. The presentation took place during a ceremony organized by the Federation at the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization.

The gift took the form of a unique artistic piece crafted from rare gemstones, engraved with Dr. El-Enany’s name, symbolizing his scientific and leadership qualities, marked by calmness, focus, and wisdom in managing major national projects, as well as the visionary insight that has characterized his long-standing career in the service of Egypt.

At the heart of the piece lay an Aqua Marine gemstone, bearing his name—historically known as a symbol of safe journeys and success in great voyages—serving as a metaphor for Dr. El-Enany’s remarkable journey from the depths of Egyptian civilization to the halls of international organizations.

Encasing the stone was a clear crystal covering, representing purity and transparency, a tribute to Dr. El-Enany’s sincerity, integrity, and dedication to presenting Egypt in the best light on the global stage.

Hossam El-Shaer, Chairman of the Egyptian Tourism Federation, presented the gift to Dr. El-Enany on stage amid applause from ministers, ambassadors, and tourism sector leaders, all expressing their admiration for this thoughtful gesture of gratitude and recognition toward one of Egypt’s most distinguished figures in tourism and antiquities.

In his remarks, El-Shaer emphasized that the gift was more than an artistic piece—it was a message of love and pride in the name of Egypt, and a tribute to a national figure whose contributions have left an indelible mark on the history of both Egyptian and global tourism.
