Amani Fekry, a student at the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences at Ain Shams University, won first place in the interactive workshops for the "Code of Africa" program for entrepreneurs.
Cameroon ranked second with an application for hospitals all over the world that arranges patient data.
This came on the sidelines of the organization of central project management and youth training, organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, in cooperation with the International Organization of la Francophonie, Microsoft Corporation and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
On the occasion of the Africa Summit on Women and Girls in Technology, a series of interactive workshops were held on technology and digital management, with the aim of obtaining knowledge, utilization, and boosting competition in the field of programming.
The event "Code of Africa" saw the participation of 40 students from Egypt, Senegal, Cameroon, and Mali from December 4 to 11 at the Center for Civil Education in Zamalek.
The workshop was also attended by leading figures and instructors from the Francophone Fund for Digital Innovation.
During the meeting, 7 leading projects from 4 countries were reviewed, including three from Egypt, two from Cameroon, one from Senegal and one from Mali.
Projects included special applications to facilitate payment procedures, subscriptions to public transportation, exchange experiences, provide teachers and communicate with people with hearing impairment.
Projects also included applications to detect spoiled meat, which won the 1st place, and the processing of international patient data.
